How did you become involved as a chapter officer?
I was invited by a colleague to join the chapter board.

What has your chapter done that has made you proud?
We developed an annual chapter-funded scholarship. These efforts have increased interest (and success) in the national scholarship competitions.

What does Phi Kappa Phi mean to you?
"Love of Learning" finds resonance in so many different ways amongst our students and colleagues.  Phi Kappa Phi celebrates this academic diversity and affirms the value, significance, and impact of collaborative learning.

What do you enjoy most about being a chapter officer?
The opportunity to empower our students through the local Phi Kappa Phi student board.

What advice would you give to a new chapter officer?
Continually cultivate academic breadth within the chapter. Invite colleagues and students who find their passion of learning through different means. Phi Kappa Phi thrives when it has broad foundations.

What are your hobbies?
Family time and family travels; music; racquetball and cycling; reading

Where are you from?
Originally from East Tennessee, near the Smoky Mountains. After graduate school I accepted my first academic appointment in Muncie, Indiana; Muncie has become my home.
